HOW LONG WILL BREAST REDUCTION FOR MEN RECOVERY TAKE?

Following all doctors’ instructions is essential to successful recovery. You will need someone to drive you home following the procedure and stay with you the first night. Discomfort is common following the procedure, however medication will be provided to manage pain. An elastic bandage should be worn around the clock to minimize swelling and support the breasts as they heal. Initial wound healing may take 5 to 10 days, at which point you should be ready to return to work and normal activity but will need to refrain from heavy lifting or vigorous exercise. Intimate contact with breasts and all activity can usually be resumed within 4-6 weeks.

Healing will continue for several weeks as swelling resolves and your new chest contour settles. The scars created by any incisions will continue to refine and fade, however they are permanent. Continue to follow your plastic surgeon’s instructions and attend follow-up visits as scheduled.
