What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel is a facial treatment used to improve the texture of the skin by applying a chemical solution that causes the shedding of old damaged surface cells. Peels are usually left on the skin for only a few minutes, depending on the strength. The solution is then neutralized and washed off. Mild redness, stinging and irritation may occur. There is little to no recovery time with mild treatments. Mild peeling may occur for a few days following treatment.

Why are chemical peels necessary?

The skin has a normal cellular turnover in which older cells are replaced by newer skin cells. This turnover rate gradually declines with increasing age and sun exposure, leaving behing the appearance of older skin. The skin starts to produce binding properties that hold the dead skin cells together. Chemical peels weaken these binding properties and stimulate new growth of skin underneath. This allows the outer layer of dead skin cells to be removed gradually.

What are the benefits of a chemical peel?

Chemical peels are beneficial for the treatment of fine lines, dryness and acne. Peels react with the outer layer of the epidermis to reduce or eliminate the apperance of a number of skin imperfections and conditions, thus revealing a healthier and fresher appearance. Rebates available on Injectables!

There are currently 3 rebates available to lower the cost of your injectable treatments.  It is the 10 year anniversary of Botox receiving FDA approval.  In celebration Botox has a program available where you can save up to $200.00 on your next 3 treatments of Botox.  Botox is used to smooth those wrinkles between your eyebrows and on your forehead.  Your first treatment must be between 02/01/12 & 04/30/12.

Restylane has recently been FDA approved for use in the lips.  Restylane is the first filler to receive FDA approval for use in the lips.  Restylane is used to restore volume in the lips or the lines that run from your nose to the corners of your mouth.  Restylane is offering a rebate of $5o per 1cc syringe of Restylane (2 syringe minimum) or Perlane (1 syringe minimum).  Treatment must be between 02/01/12 & 03/31/12.

APS is Supporting our Breast Cancer Patients

APS is recognizing October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  This is the 25th anniversary of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  In honor of the anniversary during the month of October purchase any “pink” product such as makeup, a pink Mia etc. and we will donate 25% of the purchase to the Susan G.
